Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after a couple of days of partying with fellow Padres fans in the Gaslamp. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a friendly reminder of what we may have missed while we were drinking.
The Padres (70-87) scored fewer runs than the Los Angeles Dodgers (101-56), 6-3, in the first game of three at Petco Park. Ronald Bolaños (0-2, 6.62) allowed four runs on three hits and five walks with four strikeouts in three and two-thirds innings. A.J. Pollock hit a bases-loaded single to drive in Max Muncy in the first inning. Muncy hit a grand slam home run in the fourth inning. Joc Pederson hit a solo home run in the ninth inning.
Rich Hill (4-1, 2.59) started by pitching two innings, allowing no hits and two walks with five strikeouts. Luis Urías singled to drive in Luis Torrens and Manuel Margot drove in Urías with a triple & scored on a throwing error by Gavin Lux.
