Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after a couple of days of partying with fellow Padres fans in the Gaslamp. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a friendly reminder of what we may have missed while we were drinking.

Losing Pitcher: Chris Paddack (7-6, 3.44)
The Padres (56-65) scored fewer runs, 8-4, than the Philadelphia Phillies (64-58) in the first game of three at Citizens Bank Park. Chris Paddack (7-6, 3.44) gave up five run (four earned) in four and two-thirds innings on nine hits and a walk with six strikeouts. Jean Sequra scored on a single by Cesar Hernandez in the second inning. Roman Quinn and J.T. Realmuto each hit solo home runs in the third inning. Bryce Harper scored on a Realmuto double and Segura scored on a Logan Morrison double in the fifth inning. Harper hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning.
Vince Velasquez (5-7, 4.35) allowed three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five in five and a third innings. In the sixth inning, Josh Naylor scored on a Velasquez wild pitch, Francisco Mejía hit a triple to drive Eric Hosmer in, and Wil Myers ground out to drive in Mejía. A Hosmer ground out in the eighth inning brought Naylor in to score.
