The Padres (49-56) scored fewer runs, 7-6, than the San Francisco Giants (54-52) in the finale of their three game series at Petco Park. Adrian Morejon (0-0, 5.40) threw one and two-thirds innings to begin the bullpen game, giving up two runs on two hits and three walks with two strikeouts. Mike Yastrzemski hit a two-run double to drive in Zach Green and Brandon Crawford in the second inning. Yastrzemski scored on Donovan Solano‘s single and Alex Dickerson singled to score Solano & Pablo Sandoval in the fourth inning. In the sixth inning, Yastrzemski scored on a Solano single. Buster Posey drove in Dickerson with a double and Crawford’s single scored Posey in the ninth inning.

Madison Bumgarner (6-7, 3.74) allowed four runs on four hits and two walks while striking out six over seven innings. Manuel Margot scored on Hunter Renfroe‘s sacrifice fly in the first inning. Renfroe hit a three-run home run in the third inning. Wil Myers hit a two-run home run in the ninth inning.
