The Padres (24-17) defeated the St Louis Cardinals (23-18) by a score of 5-3 and completing a three-game sweep at Petco Park. Ryan Weathers (2-1, 1.37) allowed two runs on four hits and no walks or strikeouts in four innings. Nolan Arenado hit a two-run home run in the first inning. Yadier Molina ground into a double play in the sixth inning and Paul Goldschmidt scored.
Kwang Hyun Kim (1-1, 2.73) gave up four runs (one earned) on two hits and three walks with three strikeouts in three and a third innings. In the fourth inning, Tucupita Marcano & Ha-Seong Kim drew back-to-back bases-loaded walks to score Jake Cronenworth & Tommy Pham, respectively, Austin Nola scored on a sacrifice fly by Patrick Kivlehan, and Marcano scored on a single by Ivan Castillo. Kivlehan came home on a Trent Grisham double in the sixth inning.
