The Padres (23-17) defeated the St Louis Cardinals (23-17) by a score of 13-3 in the second game of three at Petco Park. Chris Paddack (1-3, 4.45) gave up one run on three hits and a walk with two strikeouts in four innings. Yadier Molina hit a solo home run in the fourth inning. Nolan Arenado hit a solo home run in the sixth inning. Harrison Bader hit a solo home run in the seventh inning.

Adam Wainwright (2-4, 4.63) allowed six runs on eight hits and three walks with two strikeouts in four innings. Tommy Pham hit a two-run home run with Jake Cronenworth on base in the first inning. Ha-Seong Kim hit a solo home run in the second inning. Austin Nola hit a three-run home run with Cronenworth & Pham on base in the third inning. In the sixth inning, John Andreoli scored on Manny Machado‘s single, Trent Grisham came home on a single by Patrick Kivlehan, Machado scored on a double by Nola, and Brian O’Grady‘s ground out scored Kivlehan. In the seventh inning, a Machado sacrifice fly drove in Andreoli and a single by Nola scored Tucupita Marcano & Cronenworth.
