Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after an entire year of watching baseball from anywhere other than the ballpark. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a reminder of what we may have missed while most of us were still staying at home.

The Padres (68-59) were defeated by the Los Angeles dodgers (79-47) in the first game of three at Petco Park by a score of 5-3. Pierce Johnson (3-3, 2.64) allowed one run on one hit and a walk with two strikeouts in one-plus innings as the Padres opener for another bullpen game. Will Smith hit a solo home run to lead off the second inning. Justin Turner & Corey Seager scored on an A.J. Pollock single in the seventh inning. Trea Turner scored on a J. Turner sacrifice fly and Max Muncy scored when Seager hit into a fly ball double play in the eighth inning.
Julio Urías (14-3, 3.17) threw five shutout innings, giving up one hit and two walks with four strikeouts. Jurickson Profar hit a two-run home run with Wil Myers on base in the eighth inning.
