Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after an entire year of watching baseball from anywhere other than the ballpark. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a reminder of what we may have missed while most of us were still staying at home.

The Padres (59-44) defeated the Oakland Athletics (56-46) in the first of two games at Petco Park by a score of 7-4. Chris Paddack (7-6, 5.13) gave up three runs on nine hits and a walk with six strikeouts over six innings. Matt Olson‘s sacrifice fly drove in James Kaprielian, a Jed Lowrie single scored Mark Canha, and Ramon Laureano scored on a Sean Murphy double in the third inning. Murphy hit a solo home run in the eighth inning.

Kaprielian (5-4, 3.24) allowed six runs on seven hits and a walk with six strikeouts in four and a third innings. Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a two-run home run with Adam Frazier on base in the third inning. Victor Caratini & Frazier scored on a Jake Cronenworth single and Manny Machado hit a three-run home run with Tatis Jr. & Cronenworth on base in the fifth inning.
