The Padres (18-12) scored more runs than the Houston Astros (15-13), 5-3, in the third and final game of their three game series at Petco Park. Adrian Morejon (0-0, 5.79) opened the Bullpen Game with one and two-thirds innings, giving up three runs on three hits and a walk with three strikeouts. George Springer scored on a single by Carlos Correa and Kyle Tucker hit a two-run home run in the first inning. Luis Patiño, Cal Quantrill, Tim Hill, Craig Stammen, and Emilio Pagán combined to shutout the Astros over the final seven and a third innings.

Zack Greinke (1-0, 2.29) allowed three runs on four hits and two walks with four strikeouts over six innings. Fernando Tatís Jr. scored on Eric Hosmer‘s double, Jake Cronenworth singled to drive in Hosmer, and Wil Myers scored on Jurickson Profar‘s ground out in the fourth inning. Manny Machado hit a two-run home run with Tatís Jr. on base in the eighth inning.
