The Padres (11-12) scored fewer runs, 5-4, than the Arizona Diamondbacks (11-11) in the final game of three at Chase Field. Garrett Richards (1-1, 3.45) gave up two run on six hits and two walks with two strikeouts in seven innings. Kole Calhoun hit a two-run home run in the third inning. Eduardo Escobar hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning.

Robbie Ray (1-2, 8.59) gave up no hits over five innings, striking out four, but walked six and hit one batter. Eric Hosmer hit a two-run home run with Fernando Tatís Jr. on base and Tommy Pham scored on Josh Naylor‘s pinch-hit single in the sixth inning. Manny Machado scored on a fielder’s choice in the seventh inning.
