Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after a couple of days of partying with fellow Padres fans in the Gaslamp. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a friendly reminder of what we may have missed while we were drinking.

The Padres (53-61) scored more runs than the Colorado Rockies (52-63), 9-3, in the first game of four at Petco Park. Eric Lauer (6-8, 4.51) allowed three run on ten hits and no walks with two strikeouts over five-plus innings. Nolan Arenado scored on Daniel Murphy‘s single in the first inning. Trevor Story‘s third inning double drove in Charlie Blackmon. Blackmon hit a solo home run in the fifth inning.

Jon Gray (10-8, 4.06) gave up seven runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out four in five and two-thirds innings. Fernando Tatís Jr. led off the first inning with a solo home run and Manny Machado scored on a single by Eric Hosmer. Luis Urías scored on a single by Tatís Jr. in the second inning. In the sixth inning, Francisco Mejía scored when Urías reached on an error, pinch-runner Manuel Margot scored on a wild pitch by Gray, Urías scored when Tatís Jr. reached on a throwing error, and Greg Garcia & Tatís Jr. scored on Wil Myers‘ double. Manuel Margot hit a solo home run in the eighth inning.
