San Diego Sports
Baseball has a troubling practice. Basically, minor league players are paid far less than what would amount to a decent wage. The average minor league baseball player makes between 1,100 and 2,150 a month or about $1,625 per month on avg. That’s not a lot of money, I know, I’ve lived on less. The avg yearly (for 2016) wage […]
We spend a lot of time talking about what San Diego isn’t as a sports city. People aren’t extreme enough in their fandom here for others to notice, so it’s often assumed it needs to be shaped. For those in the business of selling sports in this community, a common move seems to be looking […]
This week the guys welcomed back Abby Hamblin from the San Diego Union Tribune! They broke down their semi-broken brackets, and talked about the state of college basketball in the One and Done Era. In an effort to preview the 2018 season, The Kept Faith is taking a look at the various methods one can consume Padres baseball without actually going to Petco Park.
This week the guys all got back in the same room and talked Padres Farm System with David Jay from MadFriars.com. They discuss Tatis Jr, Urias, who the cool kids will be into later this year, and the timelines of several other notable rising stars in the organization. Then they piggy back on a debate […]
I went to my first Padres game in ’69. Now I know that is a nice year to start a fandom, but it also makes me about as old as @liesurefriar. I was four and my brother was three when our dad took us to see the Padres take on the San Francisco Giants. I […]
The fifth annual edition of my must follow list for Padres Twitter. From the official accounts to the bought-off, corrupted, clique blogs, they’re (almost) all here.
Every team needs coaches, and the Padres are no exception. Let’s start with the man calling the shots and work our way down to folks whose jobs we don’t really understand. Manager Andy Green is entering his third year as Padres manager, and while it’s fun to note that former staffers Dave Roberts and A.J. […]
