The Padres (0-1) scored fewer runs, 5-1, than the Los Angeles Dodgers (1-0) in the first game of the best-of-five National League Divisional Series at Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX. Mike Clevinger left after throwing two pitches in the second inning after giving up three walks with a strikeout in the first inning. Justin Turner scored when Cody Bellinger reached on a throwing error by Jake Cronenworth in the fifth inning. In the sixth inning, Corey Seager‘s sacrifice fly drove in Chris Taylor, Mookie Betts scored on a Turner single, Turner came home on a Bellinger single, and Max Muncy scored on a wild pitch.
Walker Buehler gave up one run on two hits and four walks with eight strikeouts in four innings. Wil Myers scored on Austin Nola‘s single in the fourth inning.
