The Hangover 2019 – Games 94-96

Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after a couple of days of partying with fellow Padres fans in the Gaslamp. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a friendly reminder of what we may have missed while we were drinking.

Miami Marlins 12, Padres 7

Winning Pitcher: Jordan Yamamoto (4-0, 1.59)

Losing Pitcher: Logan Allen (2-2, 7.08)

The Padres (45-49) scored fewer runs than the Miami Marlins (35-57), 12-7, in the first of three games at Marlins Park. Logan Allen (2-2, 7.08) gave up seven runs on seven hits and three walk with no strikeouts in two and a third innings. Brian Anderson hit a three-run home run in the first inning. Harold Ramirez hit a bases-loaded two-run “double” to drive in Cesar Puello & Yadiel Rivera and Garret Cooper singled to drive in Miguel Rojas & Ramirez in the second inning. In the sixth inning. Rojas singled to drive in Rivera and Starlin Castro tripled to drive in Rojas, Cooper, & Anderson. Cooper hit a solo home run in the eighth inning.

Jordan Yamamoto (4-0, 1.59) allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out four over five innings. In the second inning, a bases-loaded single by Ian Kinsler & a throwing error by Anderson scored Hunter Renfroe & Josh Naylor and a ground out by Manuel Margot scored Francisco Mejia. Margot hit a solo home run in the seventh inning. In the ninth inning, Franmil Reyes hit a pinch-hit two-run home run and Manny Machado doubled to score Eric Hosmer.
