The Padres (45-45) scored more runs, 5-3, than the Los Angeles Dodgers (60-32) in the finale of their four-game series — and final game before the All-Star break — at Dodger Stadium. Joey Lucchesi (7-4, 3.94) gave up three runs on six hits and no walks with four strikeouts over six and a third innings. Max Muncy hit a solo home run in the second inning. Justin Turner hit a solo home run in the sixth inning. Edwin Rios scored on Alex Verdugo‘s single in the seventh inning.

Ross Stripling (3-3, 3.79) allowed four runs on six hits and no walks while striking out three in four and a third innings. Fernando Tatis Jr. led off the game with a solo home run in the first inning. Manuel Margot hit a solo home run in the second inning. Tatis Jr. hit a three-run home run in the fifth inning.
