The Padres (22-18) scored more runs, 4-3, than the Colorado Rockies (18-21) in the second of three games at Coors Field. Joey Lucchesi (3-2, 4.57) allowed one run on three hits and a walk with four strikeouts in five and a third innings. Trevor Story scored on a sacrifice fly by Nolan Arenado in the sixth inning. Tony Wolters’ single in the seventh inning drove in David Dahl. Charlie Blackmon hit a solo home run in the eighth inning.

Jon Gray (3-3, 4.25) gave up three runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out eight in six-plus innings. Hunter Renfroe hit a solo home run in the fourth inning. An Eric Hosmer single in the sixth inning drove in Manny Machado. Wil Myers hit a solo home run in the seventh inning. Myers scored the go-ahead run in the ninth inning on a fielder’s choice ground ball by Greg Garcia with the bases loaded.
