The Padres (17-13) scored more runs, 4-3, than the Atlanta Braves (14-15) in the second game of four at SunTrust Park. Chris Paddack (2-1, 1.91) gave up two runs on four hits and a walk with five strikeouts in six innings. Matt Joyce hit a two-run single in the second inning. Ronald Acuna hit an RBI single in the eighth inning.

Julio Teheran (2-4, 5.35) pitched seven innings, allowing four runs on five hits and walk while striking out eight. Franmil Reyes hit two solo home runs – one in the first inning and the second in the sixth inning – and an RBI double in the third inning to drive in Greg Garcia. Eric Hosmer hit a solo home run in the sixth inning, as well.
