The Padres (22-15) scored more runs than the Colorado Rockies (17-18) in the finale of their four-game series at Coors Field, 6-0. Garrett Richards (1-2, 4.63) shut the Rockies out with just one hit, no walks, and four strikeouts in three and two-thirds innings. Adrian Morejon, Pierce Johnson, Drew Pomeranz, and Trevor Rosenthal combined for five and a third shutout innings of relief.
Germán Márquez (2-5, 4.88) gave up five runs on eight hits and two walks with seven strikeouts over six innings. Austin Nola & Jurickson Profar scored on Fernando Tatís Jr.‘s triple and Tatís Jr. scored on Manny Machado‘s sacrifice fly in the third inning. Wil Myers hit a leadoff solo home run and Profar’s single drove in Jake Cronenworth in the fourth inning. Tatís Jr. scored on a double by Eric Hosmer in the seventh inning.
