The Hangover 2020 – Games 34-37

Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after a couple of days of trying to login to Zoom meetings with fellow Padres fans. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a friendly reminder of what we may have missed while we were stuck in quarantine.

The Padres (20-14) scored more runs, 10-4, than the Colorado Rockies in the first of four games at Coors Field. Zach Davies (5-2, 2.61) gave up four unearned runs in five and two-thirds innings on five hits and two walks while striking out six. Trevor Story scored when Charlie Blackmon reached on a fielder’s choice & fielding error and Matt Kemp hit a three-run home run in the first inning.

Kyle Freeland (2-1, 3.43) allowed four runs on eleven hits and no walks with two strikeouts in four and a third innings. Wil Myers scored on Jorge Mateo‘s single in the fourth inning. Eric Hosmer doubled to drive in Manny Machado, Hosmer scored on a Myers double, and Myers scored on a single by Ty France in the fifth inning. Fernando Tatís Jr. scored on a Machado sacrifice fly and Hosmer, Myers, & Jake Cronenworth came home on a bases-loaded double by France in the sixth. In the eighth inning, a Myers single drove in Machado and Cronenworth’s sacrifice fly drove in Hosmer.
