The Hangover 2019 – Games 87-90

Padres vs Los Angeles Dodgers @ Dodger Stadium

July 4-7, 2019

Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after a couple of days of partying with fellow Padres fans in the Gaslamp. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a friendly reminder of what we may have missed while we were drinking.

This is The Hangover.

In Memoriam

During Sunday’s game I learned that my friend, Leila Forsythe-Alvarez, passed away on June 30 after a battle with cancer. Leila was a big Padres fan and one of the sweetest, most positive people I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet.

For those who are unaware, Leila leaves behind a four-year old son with Down syndrome. One of the last things Leila convinced me to do was setup a personal fundraising page for Gigi’s Playhouse.

The goal of Gigi’s Playhouse is to change lives through consistent delivery of free educational, therapeutic-based and career development programs for individuals with Down syndrome, their families and the community, through a replicable playhouse model.

Please consider donating in remembrance of and to honor my dear friend, Leila, to Gigi’s Playhouse, her preferred breast cancer charity METAvivor, and/or GoFundMe to directly benefit her son, Milo.

Thank you. Rest in peace, Leila.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our sweet Leila. She passed away Sunday, June 30th with her husband and family at her side. As many of you know she was diagnosed with Metastatic breast cancer on February 2, 2016. She endured over 10 different chemo therapy regimens, over 150 chemo treatments, a year of hormonal therapy, brain surgery, 15 radiation treatments and numerous complications. Through it all she showed us how to live with grace, bravery and positivity, rarely complaining and finding joy in every day. She is survived by her loving husband, Enrique, her parents, her brother & sister, her grandparents and many relatives who loved her dearly and most importantly her precious son, Milo. She touched people from all over the world including Marian Catholic High School where she found lifelong friends, at Chapman University where she found sisterhood in the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority, among the Down syndrome community with her fellow “rockin’ moms”, and with other Stage IV breast cancer thrivers where she found community and support. We miss her terribly and hope to honor her by living our lives the way she did; with gratitude and grace💖 A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 16th with an 11am mass at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 7710 El Cajon Blvd. La Mesa, Ca. 91942 and a reception to follow. “The most meaningful way anyone could ‘honor’ me is by helping Milo achieve what I know he is capable of—by establishing an educational savings fund for him, or donate to Gigi’s Playhouse; something that will benefit him and his little friends. If anyone is inclined, METAvivor is my #1 breast cancer charity.” ——— Leila Link is in bio. . . . . #stageivneedsmore #metastaticbreastcancer #metavivor #dying4acure #mbc #dontignorestageiv #whereistheoutrage #research #metup #thecancercouchfoundation #stickit2stage4 #pinkisnotacure #metastaticbc #breastcancer #cancer #alphagammadelta #theluckyfew #chapmanualumni

Scott Dunsmore has been a Padres fan since the 3rd grade. The Ghost of Ray Kroc possessed his body in 2011 and now won't leave.
