The Padres (38-37) scored more runs than the Milwaukee Brewers (40-34), 8-7, completing the three-game series sweep at Petco Park. Matt Strahm (2-6, 4.85) allowed four runs on five hits and a walk with two strikeouts in five innings. Ryan Braun hit a solo home run in the first inning. Braun’s double in the third inning drove in Lorenzo Cain and Christian Yelich. Yelich hit a solo home run in the fifth inning. Yasmani Grandal hit a three-run home run in the seventh inning.

Zach Davies (7-1, 3.06) gave up five runs on nine hits and three walks while striking out three in two and two-thirds innings. Eric Hosmer hit a two-run home run in the first inning. In the second inning, Manny Machado hit what was initially called a home run, but after review was called a single, and Fernando Tatis Jr. scored. Greg Garcia hit an RBI triple to drive in Francisco Mejia and Manuel Margot singled to bring Garcia home in the third inning. Franmil Reyes hit a three-run home run in the seventh inning.
