The Hangover 2019 – Games 44-47

Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after a couple of days of partying with fellow Padres fans in the Gaslamp. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a friendly reminder of what we may have missed while we were drinking.

The Padres (23-21) scored more runs than the Pittsburgh Pirates (21-20), 4-3, in the first of four games at Petco Park. Eric Lauer (2-4, 5.24) gave up two runs (one earned) on seven hits and no walk with three strikeouts in five and two-thirds innings. Kevin Newman scored when Adam Frazier reached on a fielder’s choice in the fifth inning. In the sixth inning, a wild pitch by Adam Warren allowed Elias Diaz to score. Gregory Polanco hit a solo home run in the seventh inning.

Trevor Williams (2-1, 3.33) pitched just three and two-thirds inning before leaving with an injury. Williams allowed one run on two hits and a walk while striking out five. Franmil Reyes hit a solo home run in the third inning. Ian Kinsler hit a three-run go-ahead home run in the sixth inning.
