Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after a couple of days of partying with fellow Padres fans in the Gaslamp. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a friendly reminder of what we may have missed while we were drinking.
The Padres (22-20) scored fewer runs, 6-3, than the Los Angeles Dodgers in the first of two games at Dodger Stadium. Chris Paddack (3-2, 1.99) gave up six runs (three earned) on five hits and a walk with three strikeouts in four and two-thirds innings. Joc Pederson and Cody Bellinger each hit two-run home runs in the third inning. Chris Taylor singled to drive in Corey Seager in the fourth inning. Max Muncy scored on a Bellinger ground out in the seventh inning.
Clayton Kershaw (3-0, 3.40) allowed three run on five hits and a walk while striking out five in seven innings. Franmil Reyes hit a solo home run in the first inning. Manny Machado hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning.
