The Padres (68-81) scored fewer runs, 10-5, than the Colorado Rockies (65-85) who swept the three-game series at Coors Field. Cal Quantrill (6-8, 5.33) gave up four runs on six hits and three walks with three strikeouts in three innings. Chi Chi González singled with the bases-loaded in the second inning and Garrett Hampson & Josh Fuentes came in to score. Ryan McMahon hit a two-run home run in the third inning. Charlie Blackmon scored on McMahon’s single and Fuentes hit a three-run home run in the seventh inning. McMahon hit a solo home run and Fuentes doubled in Hampson in the eighth inning.
González (1-6, 6.23) allowed one run on four hits and five walks while striking out five in four innings. Luis Urías hit a solo home run in the second inning. Wil Myers hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning. Josh Naylor hit a two-run home run in the ninth inning.
