The Padres (66-76) scored more runs than the Colorado Rockies (60-84), 2-1 in ten innings, in the third game of their three-game series at Petco Park. Eric Lauer (8-8, 4.41) allowed one run on four hits and two walks while striking out four over six innings. Pat Valaika scored on Drew Butera‘s sacrifice fly in the third inning.

Peter Lambert (2-6, 6.86) gave up a run on five hits and three walks with four strikeouts in five innings. Luis Urías singled in the fourth inning to drive in Josh Naylor. In the tenth inning, Wil Myers hit a walk-off single to bring Manny Machado home from second base.
