The Padres (55-61) scored more runs, 8-5, than the Colorado Rockies (52-65) in the third of four games at Petco Park. Chris Paddack (7-5, 3.26) gave up three runs on five hits and a walk with five strikeouts in six innings. Raimel Tapia scored on a single by Yonathan Daza in the second inning. Nolan Arenado hit a solo home run in the fourth inning. Trevor Story scored on a Arenado single in the sixth inning. Yonder Alonso hit a pinch-hit two-run home run in the seventh inning.

Chi Chi González (0-4, 6.57) allowed five runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out three over five innings. Hunter Renfroe scored on Luis Uría‘s ground out in the second inning. Renfroe hit a solo home run in the fourth inning. Josh Naylor scored on a double by Manny Machado, Machado came home on a double by Renfroe, and Margot drove Renfroe in to score in the fifth inning. Margot hit a two-run home run and Wil Myers hit a solo home run in the eighth inning.
