The Hangover 2019 – Games 11-13

Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after a couple of days of partying with fellow Padres fans in the Gaslamp. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a friendly reminder of what we may have missed while we were drinking.

The Padres (7-4) scored more runs than the San Francisco Giants (3-8), 6-5, in the first of three games at Oracle Park. Eric Lauer (2-1, 4.76) gave up five runs on four hits and three walks while striking out eight in six innings. In the fourth inning, Tyler Austin scored on a Brandon Crawford single and Kevin Pillar hit a grand slam home run. Gerardo Parra was hit by a pitch in the face by Brad Wieck in the seventh inning.

Madison Bumgarner (0-2, 3.36) pitched six-plus innings, allowing five runs on four hits and a walk with three strikeouts. Bumgarner also hit Fernando Tatis Jr. with a pitch twice; in the second and the seventh innings. Tatis Jr. hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning. In the sixth inning, Wil Myers hit a solo home run. Tatis Jr. scored in the seventh inning on a Manuel Margot ground out and Franmil Reyes hit a mammoth pinch-hit two-run home run.
